Happened to look inside the refrigerator at the checkout line at Walmart.
“Chris, don’t do that. Why do I go out in public with you?”
“Oh, come on, it’s fun. It’s cute.”
Zach rolls his eyes, but Chris just grins and rearranges the bottles again, angling them carefully. “See? That is adorable,” he looks so excited that Zach can’t help smiling too. It slides away though when Chris maneuvers his phone from his back pocket.
“Oh my god,” he groans. “You’re not taking a picture our coke counterparts.”
“I am so taking a picture,” Chris retorts happily. “Your mom will love it.” He snaps the picture, and then holds it up in triumph for Zach’s approval, and if he’s going to be perfectly honest, it is pretty adorable.
Zach and Chris.
Immortalised forever, on bottles of Coke.
He reaches in and plucks them from the shelf. He ignores Chris’ growing grin. “Just come on,” he grumbles, tucking the bottles in the crook of his arm. Chris winds an arm around his waist, and kisses his cheek.
“You’re such a sap,” he murmurs as they make their way to the checkout. Zach bumps his hip gently, and doesn’t reply. He doesn’t need to.
