#in b&w this photo is making me think things#1950s au where chris is a jazz flautist living in a five story walkup in soho#and zach is (naturally) a poet#and they have mutual friends that think they’d be good together#but it’s hate at first sight#like ‘who’s a jazz fucking flautest how jejune’ zach says#and chris thinks zach’s a poser whose poetry lacks a consistent pov#and they snipe at each other at friends’ parties#and drink too much chianti one night#and hate-fuck on a mattress on the floor of chris’s 5th floor walkup#and zach isn’t sure but he thinks he saw god in the apple of chris’s fucking asscheeks#and then they’re inseparable#and their creativity takes a turn#because as it turns out chris is a talented composer#and zach a decent lyricist#and they compose next season’s biggest broadway hit#and that’s it man they’re the toast of the town#and before long they’ve bought a duplex on the upper east side#and live happily ever after#and zach becomes the kind of guy who wears a toupee (it’s the 70s man)#and chris gains a little weight (OK a lot) and takes to wearing colorful caftans#but they love each other forever#and there’s a revival of their best shows in the early 80’s#starring chita rivera#because chita rivera#and on opening night chris dies quietly in his sleep#and zach becomes this tragic figure to everyone but himself#because once upon a time he met a boy he hated on sight#and they made beautiful music together#and it was grand
